Joey Swoll Defends Man Who Is Falsely Accused Of Staring At A Female Gym-Goer

Joey Swoll Defends Man Who Is Falsely Accused Of Staring At A Female Gym-Goer

Joey Swoll continues to defend actions in the gym speaking out against toxic culture.
Joey Swoll is at it again. The fitness personality has gained even more popularity in recent months as he has used social media to show examples of toxic gym culture and speak against it. In his recent example, Swoll is defending a male gym-goer who is being accused of staring at a female while she is working out.
This is not the first time that Swoll has shared a video of a female accusing a man of staring. In January, Swoll shared a similar story but the man was just trying to watch the television that the female was blocking. In other instances, there have been ego lifters and outright rude lifters who try to make other people look foolish.

In this video, a female gym-goer is preparing to do an exercise with dumbbells. As she is getting ready to perform her set, there is an older man that can be seen looking in her direction for a few seconds. Swoll explains that this is a normal occurrence, especially in public, and that the man was not harassing the woman.
“You also say normalize not staring. You were in this man’s peripheral. You picked up some weights. He looked over for a few brief seconds to see what you were doing and then he looked away to mind his own business. I do this. People are in a public space. People are going to look at you.
There’s a difference between staring like a creep and simply looking at somebody to see what they’re doing. Women are harassed and disrespected at gyms. You are not one of them. You need to do better. You need to mind your own business.”
The caption on Joey Swoll’s post reads “Women are harassed in gyms and it needs to stop. This is NOT it.”

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to find stories about females being harassed while at the gym. This is another way TikTok is being used as females share stories on the platform to get the word out and make sure that it does not happen to anyone else. Swoll believes this was taken too far by the female.
“In the video, you say, ‘minding your own business’.
Well, in reality, when you’re filming in a public space, you’re not really minding your own business. It’s okay to do that, but you need to be respectful of others.”
Joey Swoll also calls out the female for filming inside the gym, which has become more common over the years. He explains that this is not minding her own business and this could take up unnecessary space.
Swoll has made it a mission to defend those who are wrongly called out or exposed in the gym for different reasons. He does not believe the man was doing anything wrong in this video and wanted to make sure that people improve themselves in the gym. This is the only way to eliminate the toxic gym culture.

TikTok User Sherein Abdelhady Stuns Male Gym Goers With 425-Pound Deadlift

TikTok User Sherein Abdelhady Stuns Male Gym Goers With 425-Pound Deadlift

The TikTok user pulled off a massive deadlift with a large audience in awe.
There are some lifts in the gym that make fellow gym-goers stop and stare. When it is caught on camera, it can be pretty comical. That is what happened when TikTok user Sherein Abdelhady filmed herself complete a huge 425-pound deadlift that left male lifters in shock.
Abdelhady posted the video to her TikTok account and it has gained upwards of 34 million views in one month. The video shows her completing the lift, with relative ease, then shows a montage of other lifters watching in disbelief.

“Deadlifting 425 pounds is cool. But seeing everyone’s reaction was cooler,” Abdelhady wrote in the video.
After Abdelhany completes the lift, there is applause that can be heard before the video shows all of the viewers. It is only natural that there were many comments on the video because of the amount of views. It did not take long for the clip to go viral and speak in favor of women in the gym.

This clip was captured because the friend of Abdelhany’s who took the video was able to capture it from a different angle. This left all who were watching in view of the camera.
“Girls are becoming stronger than guys. Get it!,” one comment read.
“Those guys be contemplating their whole life,” another wrote.
Abdelhany admitted that she did not notice the reactions when she was completing the lift. She did not notice until she watched the video back. Despite the viral nature of this video, she admits that she does not do it for attention but for the love of lifting.
“Regardless of whether the reactions were positive or negative, I promised myself a long time ago that I would never dull my spark,” Abdelhardy declared. “I’ll never stop doing what makes me happy just because of someone else’s opinions or doubts.”
Unfortunately, there have been some videos released on TikTok about inappropriate behavior from males toward females in the gym. This has raised awareness of the problem around the country and action is being taken when needed. It is nice to see a viral video showing the pure strength that women can have in the gym.

TikTok Fitness Influencer Shares Strange Voicemail Left By Gym Employee

TikTok Fitness Influencer Shares Strange Voicemail Left By Gym Employee

TikTok influencer @kenyastephh claims a gym employee stole her phone information to leave the voicemail.
Unfortunately, there have been recent stories coming out about female gym goers being approached or harassed by other gym goers or employees. This is something that has come to light again on TikTok. Fitness influencer with the username @kenyastephh shared posts to her TikTok account showing a strange voicemail left by a gym employee on her cell phone.
In December, two news stories went viral where a gym member actually followed a woman home after her workout. Another instance came to light about a creepy gym goer approaching a woman while working out and spotting her without consent. This is not appropriate behavior for the gym and this is why women are beginning to share their stories.

The most recent came from @kenyastephh where she shared another instance to her 17,000 followers on the platform. She claims that her phone information was taken from the database at the gym and used to make a call.
““Hello, this is EOS Fitness… I saw you doing glute spreads,” a man can be heard saying in the video before cutting out.
The fitness influencer continued to explain the incident in her caption and got plenty of positive responses from commenters.
“Friendly reminder to men to please not do things like this. This is very scary, too many weird things happen. I’m sorry for the women and wish this wouldn’t happen. I wasn’t in the room for more than five minutes and I got the call. I always wear a jacket around my waist to avoid this stuff. I was just trying to take some pics before my workout.”

The user @kenyastephh reported the incident to the gym manager asking her name and information to be removed from the database. She shared her location while performing the exercise and expressed how this can be a scary thing for females at the gym.
No one was hurt in this incident but it seems to be something that is happening more frequently. Gym goers are beginning to share their stories and put others on notice. The gym should be a safe place where people go to better themselves, both physically and mentally. It is a good thing for stories to be shared so the proper punishment be handed down.

Florida TikToker Says LA Fitness Member Followed Her Home & Assaulted Her

Florida TikToker Says LA Fitness Member Followed Her Home & Assaulted Her

A recent TikTok went viral after woman claims that she was followed home and assaulted.
A Florida TikToker shared a recent video claiming that a man followed her home from an LA Fitness and assaulted her. At first, the particular LA Fitness did not ban this member from the gym or take any action but the woman has spoken to the company since.
Jessi Balter, or @jessibalter on TikTok, shared a video on Dec. 11. In less than two weeks, the video has received 6.9 million views and close to 7,000 comments. In the 25 second video, Balter shows what she was wearing on the day of the incident and explains that there was no course of action taken.

“What I was wearing:
the day a man followed me home from the gym and into my apartment.
I reported the incident to LA Fitness and they refused to ban him.
How can they care more about a contract than their own member’s safety???” Balter wrote on screen in the video.
Unfortunately, this is not the first incident at a gym in recent weeks. Another instance went viral after a TikToker shared a video where a strange man is seen spotting a woman while bench pressing without her consent. The woman claimed that this ‘gym creep’ was following her around the gym prior to this.
For Balter, the situation was a bit more serious as she was followed home. Last week, Balter took to TikTok to post an update on the situation. She said she spoke to the district manager of LA Fitness in South Florida following the breakout of her video.

Balter explains how the manager was kind and offered her a refund for what she was unable to use. Also, how LA Fitness would cooperate if Balter wanted to take further action against the man.
“I basically explained to him what happened in full detail and I told him who I spoke to after the incident and how they reacted to me and how the situation was just not handled the way it should have been. He agreed,” the tiktoker said.
“He basically asked what else I wanted him to do to make the situation right. I told him, I thought it was really important that he read through the comments and became aware of what has been happening at these facilities around the country…He told me that I have their full support if I wanted to reach out to law enforcement. They would be fully cooperative and help me out there.
If someone comes up and reports they are unsafe in the gym. They feel like someone is following them, a man said something to them, a man touched them — this is not something to report on their account. They should be given some sort of reperscussion. They need to be kicked out of the gym or sent to a different gym.”

WATCH: TikTok Video Shows ‘Gym Creep’ Assisting Woman Without Consent

WATCH: TikTok Video Shows ‘Gym Creep’ Assisting Woman Without Consent

A recent video has cause a stir after a man is seen following a woman around the gym.
A recent video posted to TikTok has caused quite a stir after a man is seen assisting a woman with a lift without her permission. In the video, the man approaches the barbell and grabs one side of it, which causes trouble with balance. What was not seen in the video was the man following the TikToker around the gym.
The video was shared by “Smalls” (@dezsquats). She claims that the man was following her as she was doing her workouts prior to him approaching her on the bench. Not only is this a strange and invasive procedure by the man, it was dangerous. He grabs one side of the bar, not the middle like usually done when spotting, and this could have caused the lifter to lose control and drop the weight.
““I thought I lost this video. This man had been following me around the gym trying to “help” me my entire lift. ? reasons I need a fucking home gym.” The TikToker shared.”
This video currently has over 2.6 million viewed and 385,000 likes. Despite the fact that the man stepped over the line, there are commenters that have tried to come to his rescue and provide a defense. Some have brought up her form when bench pressing and the fact that she racks one side at a time. The TikToker made a follow-up video claiming that she has to re-rack like this because she is smaller, not because she is struggling.

This is not the only follow-up that she had made. “Smalls” explained how there was not any interaction with the man following the strange encounter and that she no longer goes to that gym.
“There’s no story. He was following me around the gym, and I just went off and told him not to touch my fucking bar.”
“He never tried to defend himself or anything. He kind of just got scared and went back to doing whatever workout he was doing.”
Not only could this have cause injury, it continues to show why some women do not feel comfortable in a gym setting. This is an instant where action should have been taken against the man — and one commenter agreed.
“As a gym attendant, if you showed me this video he would have his membership revoked that day and you would be escorted out at the end of your sesh,” one TikTok commenter said.
