Tommy Fury Cancels Fight, Jake Paul Responds With Offer To Move Match To UK: ‘You Are A Scared Little Boy’
Jake Paul and Tommy Fury will not fight in August. Will the fight ever take place?
A boxing match between Tommy Fury and Jake Paul has been in the works since December. The first meeting was called off because Fury sustained an injury. Now, Fury has been forced to cancel once again due to travel issues.
Fury, who is the half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, posted a statement on Twitter claiming that he will be unable to make it into the U.S. prior to the fight. Paul did not waste time commenting on the post offering a fight in the U.K. but the payday will be far less than the original amount.

“I’m gutted and disappointed in regards to the issues I have faced with entry into the USA. This is something that myself or my team could have never anticipated happening. This situation has been left with my lawyers as being denied entry to a country is obviously a very serious issue and it needs to subsequently be resolved.
I am confident this fight will happen when this issue gets resolved and we come to a solution. I want to clarify that I will fight in a neutral country that both parties can enter. This can be any time, any place, any where.”
Jake Paul will now take on Hasim Rahman Jr. on August 6 as the son of former heavyweight boxing champion steps in for Fury.
Jake Paul Responds, Offers $500k For Fight
Jake Paul has not been shy about offering up massive paydays for fighters interested in stepping in the ring. The former YouTuber has successfully made the transition into the ring but has received criticism for not taking on a real fighter. Paul has victories over YouTuber AnEsonGib, former NBA player Nate Robinson, Ben Askren, and Tyron Woodley.
At this point, Paul has attempted to fight Fury on two separate occasions and is unhappy that it has not happened yet. Paul immediately responded to Fury on Twitter.
“I’m confident you are a scared little boy who doesn’t want to fight or understand business. I will pay you $500k to fight me in the UK. I will do it shortly after August 6. You accept?”
The original agreement for this fight was upwards of $2 million for the fight at Madison Square Garden. After being offered a price that is significantly less, Fury responded to Paul and did not accept.
“I wouldn’t get out of bed to fight you for $500k. Let me know when you’re ready to have a serious conversation.”
It is unknown when or if Jake Paul and Tommy Fury will ever step in the ring together but maybe the third time is the charm. Paul will still be in action on August 6 at the Garden.

John Fury Threatens Jake Paul, Wants Tommy Fury Bout Scheduled For March
John Fury did not mince words when discussing Jake Paul taking on his son.
Jake Paul is one of the biggest and most controversial names in boxing right now. Paul made the transition from YouTube sensation to boxing and has not lost a match just yet. As he continues to take steps up in competition, there is even more attention being brought to the sport. Paul knows how to push buttons on social media and he has done this once again after Tommy Fury backed out of their scheduled fight.
Fury was forced to remove himself from the bout after suffering an injury. Paul quickly took to Instagram to discuss how Fury was afraid of the challenge. Now, Paul will have a rematch with Tyron Woodley on Saturday.
Since then, John Fury has called out Paul. Fury, who is the father of Tommy and Tyson Fury, demanded that Paul take on Tommy or he will handle the situation himself.
“I’ll tell you what Jake Paul, if you any kind of man at all mate, let’s renegotiate this fight for March. Or I will come to America and I’ll give you and your brother a good hiding. I’ll slap the pair of you with the back of my hand,” John Fury said.
“He’s used the Fury name though, hasn’t he? But good luck to him, you know, luck was with him. The cards fell his way. It was unfortunate for us. We can deal with misfortune. I’ve had misfortune most of my life. Like I said to Tommy, I said pick your head up son, I’ve been unfortunate most of my life… We don’t value Jake Paul, or his brother, or any fighter in the world. This is what we do. It’s a business. In his heart he knows the truth. He’s sucked the life out the Fury name for three months. He’s had his money’s worth.”
It is clear that John Fury was unhappy with the way Jake Paul was using his family’s name. Paul has also made comments that Tyson could be partially to blame for Tommy Fury’s injury because of training methods. In reality, Fury has been dealing with a bacterial chest infection after suffering broken ribs.
Jake Paul has not been shy about getting in the ring with anyone. Right now, he is the hot ticket for any boxer looking to take him on for any reason — whether it is personal or financial. Now, this storyline between Tommy Fury and Jake Paul is continuing to grow. There are now some personal reasons that the two might want to meet and it is something we could see happen in 2022.

Paul announced the fight on Friday and already took a verbal swing at Fury.
Jake Paul has been gaining notoriety for his extremely popular boxing events – but has also been criticized for having never fought an actual pro boxer. That seems to be finally put to rest with the announcement of this fight – the question is how will he perform?
Tommy Fury is the younger brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. At 22 years old, Tommy Fury is undefeated with a 7-0 record including four knockouts to his name. Fury’s fight against Jake Paul will be his fourth match of the year. Interestingly enough, Fury had fought in one of the matches before Paul’s match against Tyron Woodley in August. Fury defeated Anthony Taylor during said match.
After defeating Taylor, Tommy Fury called out Jake Paul claiming, “Jake Paul should have an easy night. So he’s got no excuse for not taking the fight? Let’s get it on Paul. I’ve done my bit. You do your bit tonight and we’ll get it on.”
This ignited a public verbal rivalry between the two with many fans wondering if a fight would ever actually materialize. After much anticipation, it’s finally official. Jake Paul currently sits on a 4-0 record with three knockouts to his name. This will be Paul’s third fight of this year. He had previously defeated Woodley and Ben Askren in 2021.
In addition to the main title card fight, popular female boxer Amanda Serrano is rumored to also fight at the event, though not publicly confirmed at the time of this writing. Her opponent has not yet been set. Serrano is promoted by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions. She has a 41-1-1 record with 30 knockouts to her name.
What once felt like publicity stunts by both Jake and Logan Paul is starting to look like a bonafide entrance into the boxing world. Both brothers have fought in many fights and don’t look to be slowing down. Will their reputation eventually begin to be more accepted in the traditional boxing world? At what point will an entertainer like Jake Paul be seen as a legitimate fighter based on his skill alone beyond his personality and influence? Only time will tell.
His fight against Tommy Fury will be another step towards legitimacy, being Paul’s first fight against a full on pro boxer. How her performs in December and the outcome of the match will be interesting for his future in the sport indeed. Stick around Generation Iron Network as more updates surface on the upcoming match.
