My Dr is also a bodybuilder and pretty knowledgable in all things related to training. We were talking the other day about how everyone seems to be getting sick and forced to take a bunch of time off at the gym. He said that as long as you don't have aches and pains in the body you can train. I asked about it suppressing the immune system and he had a pretty unique stance. He said that most viruses have to run their course. Depending on the severity, training can help get body temp and heart rate elevated which can speed recovery. Bacterial infections were a different story. He said rest and staying hydrated was the best thing to do.
Any of you train while you're feeling crappy? I've been feeling pretty bad for the last couple of days. I thought it may be a virus so I decided to go do chest today despite feeling pretty crappy. To my surprise I was crazy strong and got an amazing pump! It was t as enjoyable as if I were 100% being as I had to keep blowing my nose and washing my hands and the equipment, but it was the strongest I've been in a couple months

I've dragged my ass to the gym feeling sick not wanting to miss a workout. Usually feel
much better when done. The trick is to know when its going to make you better or worse. lol

I hate when I see sick people at the fucking gym! I thinks its rude!

I will go workout if I am feeling crappy, as long as it's not too bad...to where I might get others sick or just feel like I can't do anything. It usually makes me feel better, and actually have had some really good workouts.

That's what usually causes me the issue. I always doubt that I'm sick. I was a little unmotivated and then had a great workout. After I felt like I got hit by a bus. I made it through the day yesterday and got to bed at 5am. Got about 5 hours of sleep and I feel fine today.

Unless I'm puking or need rubber underwear because I can't stop shitting I train. I'll adjust the volume and output depending on how I feel once I get into the workout. I usually train alone in a private facility so I don't have to worry too much about getting others sick.

I've been sick for about a week now. I have taken the whole week off, (last thurs to tues today 5 days in a row) Before that I had been training 14-15 days in a row. I dont know if that was it (I didnt feel bad) but I have had a headache, stomach issues, and just tired all the time. Could it be overtraining ? I dont know, but im gonna give it a go, and go to work tommarow and try to do some light training, and cardio.
