Does your post workout drink include carbs?

I get 8 grams of carbs per scoop. Usually 2 scoops post workout, with 60g of protein. Mixed with skim milk there's another 13 grams of carbs.

Yes! Your muscles need carbs after a workout to restore glycogen levels. Within 20 mins of a workout I try to eat or drink 60-100 grams of carbs. This is the most important time to consume carbs. So start adding it to your shake. I typically throw fruit, graham crackers, and just a little juice in my pwo shake.

I have at most a whole bagel when Im done training.....Like 50 g of carbs. When I wanna be careful I eat half a bagel or eat ezickiel bread.
Dont forget carbs with your breakfast too!

The largest amount of carbs I eat at a single sitting is my post workout shake. 3 of my meals are only 1 cup of brown rice for carbs. My post workout shake is 12 oz apple juice, 6 strawberries, half a banana, and 1 cup of Greek yogurt. I'm not sure how many carbs, but it's a lot. No carbs after that

yes I use 50-70 grams of dextrose, It would be wasting your protein, unless you are maintaining low carb diet and ketosis. Spiking your insulin levels after workout will help your muscles grow and body will be able to transport all the protein that is needed to muscle.

The Dude is the man. Fruit way better than dextrose. Insulin spike is different. Keeping the waist tight is key. For health and body build ing. Guys research the different foods carb sources and insulin spikes. Everything causes different effect and nutrient obsorbtion. I'm a firm believer that retaining water and gaining fat is insulin 100%. Cut out sodium all you want you will still retain water from dextrose or any simple sugar. Faster than sodium. If I find link to the studies and graphs I'll post it.

Dude I assume you blend this? Any actual protein powder?

Ya I use a bulk unflavored whey protein. I buy like 50lbs at a time and I only use protein powder in my post workout shake so it lasts forever.
