I got into with my wife last night about a PT EP position I was offered. She told me I need to focus on my prep, LOL. I was pissed, missed my workout, and ordered a pizza with just grilled chicken and buffalo sauce. I waited until the morning to tell her she was right.
I'll be 12 weeks out on Saturday and won't be having any more cheat meals. She knows I'm committed when entering this stage of my prep and has removed all the junk food from our house. She surprisingly pulled out all my old trophies from storage last week and placed them on a shelf in the basement. She said, "These need to be out." We'll be married 35 years in August.
I hit Back today starting with wide-grip pulldowns. I really focused on my Lats with each repetition. For some strange reason, I had the urge to do deadlifts. I started with 135 going up in 50 lb increments for 8-10 slow and controlled reps. I finished with 315. I was smoked from either the Heat or low Carbs. Probably both. I spent a lot of time on the row machine doing 8-10 reps 1-Arm at a time. That all took about 60-70 minutes.
I finished with 60 minutes of Cardio. I should weigh-in at about 188 on Saturday. This will be the lightest I've been in years and I'm not digging it, but it's nice seeing my Abs again:) Doing a prep is an emotional rollercoaster and the support I've gotten here is much appreciated. Thank you.
getting called out by the wife is good lol
i once dated a navy chick who was crazy. she would wake me up early everyday to workout

@ChuckaZulu67 60 minutes of cardio is very solid
you don't see too many people doing steady state cardio
we lead busy lives so you are lucky!

thats the oldschool way man love that

hows your day today?
189 this morning @BodybuildingChampMC and feeling like a lightweight. I’m probably going to hit Quads, Bis, and Cardio today. I need to incorporate 30 minute posing sessions now. My wife is great about putting me through a simulation pre-judging and forces me to hold the mandatory poses for a bit. She’s tough😁

@ChuckaZulu67 it’s good to have a spouse that pushes you like that. Let’s get it

@ulter @SuperAbsVin @ballin2504 Thanks guys!
I had my usual oatmeal with black iced coffee and hit Biceps, Calves, and Quads this morning.
My Hamstrings were still sore from the Deadlifts on Wednesday. I was dialed-in and think it went about 80 minutes. I only did 45 minutes of Cardio though; my Legs were smoked.
I squashed the tip of my middle finger racking a dumbbell a few days ago and thought nothing of it. I'm sure everyone here has done it. Now it's swollen, red, and painful. I'm hoping it resolves on its own. Antibiotics now would definitely mess up my prep.
I found out today that I have a mandatory work event the day before my competition. I have always taken the Friday off before competing on a Saturday. Sometimes the Thursday as well. So, I'm looking for another show to do in August or early September. I don't think I can keep this prep going into October. I'm already thinking of my next Blast post competition.

@SuperAbsVin
Freakin medical assistant asked if I’m a Crossfitter. I told him I’m just an old guy trying to stay in shape. PA did a nerve block and lanced it with a scalpel. I’m taking Keflex for the next 7 days. Big thanks to @Tiger Salman Khan for suggesting I go get it checked. IMG_4305.webp
