any other guido's here?

I love Italian food bro, and i eat pasta often (food choices are limited when you eat in a Universities cafeteria). I was actually able to convice the staff here to order whole wheat pasta at the start of this semester, with the help of about another 20 guys constanly bugging them to get it! We need it here, my whole team just goes to the cafeteria, uses one meal and gets in PLENTY of pasta and grilled chicken.

My mom is full italian...She taught me most of my cooking skills. I can cook just about any italian dish and actually most anything. I love me some pasta. Mainly stuff like lasagna or manicotti. Cheese stuffed shells are my favorite....Chicken parm is pretty good too. Love my homemade sauce. It's good stuff.

mmmmm I loaded up on eggplant parm last night with a side of whole grain pasta. Had to have 2 shakes last night to make up for the lack of protein but it was well worth it!

Italian american food bro-catch 22-most is just loaded with mozz. cheese and tomato sauce. You have to go semi-authentic. Too authentic and your eating gabuzzelle? I don't know if that is the actual spelling-you know, calf brains. Then there is the fried pigs guts and shit like tripe-I am not touching that old country shit.

This thread got me so hungry so tonight I made three cheese manicotta and eggplant parm with a nice gravy recipe I have. I made grilled chicken as well and planned on only having 1 manicotta and a few slices of eggplant to go along with my chicken and veggies. Nope, I ate everything I cooked. Probably about 8 manicotti and the entire eggplant. Forgot how good that stuff was. I'm gonna have to hit the gym hardcore tomorrow. Thanks Mike!

LOL. Sorry bro but I'm calling my wife now and asking her to take some Manicot(h) out of the freezer and throw it in the oven for me right now so it's ready when I get home! MMMMMMmmmmmm cheesy.

ok... as a girl with some Italian in her, I cannot live without pasta.

Im serious. Pasta for breakfast, lunch and dinner would be my ultimate dream. (throw a little Cinnamon Toast Crunch occasionally and I'd be in heaven.)

Well, I came across this product. NOT authentic pasta, but who gives a rats ass if you want pasta without the gut. Shirataki tofu noodles. I know, sounds f'n nasty. I make these things with gravy, shrimp, chicken, anything. A little chewy, but so damned good. You will be able to have your cake and eat it, too... sort of.

www. locarbu.com
you'll see it as a best seller all over the damned page.

I think most guys here will still be scared of that. Unless there are some metrosexuals in here or serious Manhattanites. They will be all over it. You know the kind, walking on 8th ave, wrap sunglasses, spiked hair, business casual with sneakers, back pack, i-pod in one ear and always on the cell phone.
