my leg workout usually looks like this

Squats x4
hack squats x4
leg extensions x 4
hamstring curls x 4

my reps range from 6-10 depending on weight.

Last monday i decided to try somthing different.

I did 10 sets of 10 reps of squats (not including 3 sets warm up) and that was it! took me 45 minutes

This is what i noticed:

1st 4-5 sets felt normal. . just tough squats

set 6,7,8 - the mind starts to play games on you. Starts to tell you that you dont need to do anymore squats, yet once under the bar the squating was actually a little easier than the 1st 4 sets
set 9, 10- took me alot of courage to get under the bar, the dizzy spells between sets lasted longer but very suprisingly i did 12 reps for the last 2 sets.

I figured that the motor neurons from the brain try to adapt to the movement, they realise the muscle need to do the same movement so it send more electricity to the muscles making the work out seem easier. The brain works harder on each set to ensure the muscles can move the weight. . . then i figured since the brain is working harder for the muscles, is that the reason why other parts of your brain are triggered to try n tell you not to do the next set. . this is why its such a mind fuck doing 10 sets of squats...and i beleive you can train your brain like a muslce to be able to handle more of this mind fuck..

... today is Wed, i still cant walk properly and sitting on the toilet hurts real bad.

All in all i really enjoyed doing that workout... i think i may try the same thing with deadlifts next week

lmao, man i havent had a leg day like that in a long time! but have been there, lol. I would love to hear how this was for deadlift, i cant imagine killing it 10 for 10 with deads, lol

yeah, ive done german volume a lot in the past. Dont stay on it for more than 4 weeks without changing the exercises. Pretty good, will def leave you sore initially.

Once a month i would do ten by tens, for each body part. It was the only thing that would make me get sore.

I did a circuit, light to mid weight and did 4 sets of 20 on deads, almost as many reps and I felt it

4 sets of 20 with medium weight sounds pretty intense, ive only ever done traditional deadlift sets and rep, 4 x 10 with a couple warm ups,
