I hope no one here is participating. I fucking hate black Friday. Its terrible here, people will shoot you for something here. I told my wife she is not going out and now they are even starting the bullshit on Thursday night. Arent we supposed to be giving thanks and spending time with family on Thanksgiving. I blame it on the stores. Fuck Black Friday is all I have to say.

We went out last year several hours after the stores opened and the crowds had all died down and we got almost everything we wanted for the sale prices. I think we might try that again this year. Wal-Mart opens at 6 this year, so we might hit it around 10 or midnight and see what's left. There are a few things I'd like at those sale prices, but not enough to stand in line or fight people for.

I read their are a few places, I think RI was one, where it is law that no stores can be open on thanksgiving.
The big stores have tried to sue but havent won. GREAT Idea if ya ask me. Guarnteed day off for the poor
people who have to work. Its stinking Thanksgiving for Gods sake. lol

I still have some belief in "the holiday spirit" and I try to enjoy that during this time of the year even if commercialization has all but destroyed it. Silk feels the same way. We won't destroy our holiday feelings to think we're saving a few bucks on crap we don't need. No Discount is worth ruining good family time and that special feeling some of us are able to save in our hearts for the true meaning of Christmas. I wish you all the best and be safe. The media doesn't advertise it for obvious reasons (they don't want to take any pennies out of their sponsor's pockets by doing the public a service) but Black Friday and the accompanying crazed shopping days are some of the most dangerous days of the year. It's all about family guys.

agreed. I spend thanksgiving at home. Sister who lives very close has about 25 people for dinner. I could walk
over there but we (wife and two daughters) lock the doors and stay in our sweats, pajamas. Cook all day, watch
movies, if cold make a fire and have a big turkey with ALL the extras. Way too much food but the best part is
having the leftovers for a late turkey sandwich. Love having a non guilty lazy day with just us. This year
I took my daughters to a 10 pm movie (just got home) to see the hunger games they wanted to see.
Nice family day now a tradition.

I order everything through Amazon and it gets delivered. The Prime membership is well worth it you also get the free movies too. People fighting over TV sets and all the crap. I really dont need anything anyway and all my wants are satisfied. Materialism can never bring happiness anyway. Besides most everything is chinese junk.
