I love the treadmill, but it's not always the best for burning fat. The elliptical is probably the less abrasive so I love it because it's such a smooth movement.
I try to get all my cardio from sports. I just can't do any of those machines for 30 minutes. Can't do it. So, I have to get my cardio from softball or basketball.
Treadmill with a little incline and maybe get up to 3.2. It's all I've ever done. I don't want anything other than low impact slow aerobic. I like muscle
