What do you guys think? I had a HORRIBLE workout this morning despite my diet being spot on and getting 12 hours of sleep last night. I also didn't train yesterday and took the day off of work to relax with Silk. Totally out of the blue. I thought today would be a great workout, but I just couldn't get into it. My pump wasn't that great either. I just don't get it

My crap workouts alway seem to be because I'm not focused for some reason or another. If my head is all over the place I can't concentrate on each rep, squeeze, and set. I'll find myself on like auto pilot without even knowing it, and before I realize it I'm just going through the motions with no intensity and no agression. It doesn't happen often but it's frustrating when it does.

The way I look at it, every workout cant be great. I have crap workouts, but still drag myself in there and go through the motions.
I now just try to do different exercises or something different just to break it up on those days. I think it is driving yourself through
those crap workouts that get you to those great workouts. I have those days that I dont even feel like going to the gym, I drag myself
in there and once I start I feel great and have one of those GREAT workouts. I have even had times where my workouts suck for a
couple of weeks, but pushing thru those brings me back to the good workouts. I think you cant always keep up that high intensity,
like anything else you are going to have your high and low periods. I liken it to someone training for a competition, When the competition
is over your training intensity cant keep at that level so you lower the intensity for a while. Your brain and nervous system need the break.
Boy, was that long winded. lol
But again, I think those crap workouts are just as important in the long run.

i don't decide until a few good warmups are completed if the workout for the day is gonna be heavy or high rep pump sets...

it's called getting old...get use to it

Damn I hope not! I will say that as I get older the bad workouts are harder to predict. When I was younger if I didn't think I would have a good workout I took the day off and I had very few bad ones. Now I can prepare and feel like a million bucks and I get in there and start moving and it just doesn't happen. Every rep is a struggle and I can't focus on anything.
What do old people eat? Maybe I need to drink V8 and eat more vegetables? Lol!

My guess would be too much sleep. Body prob used a ton of your muscle glycogen. If I sleep too much, same result. A lifter needs constant round the clock feelings in my opinion.

what do old people eat?? lolol Try some fiber and Ensure before your next workout.

I think crap workouts are totally random. Sometimes you are just off. When it happens to me, I just shrug it off and kill it the next training session.
