Covering up your Tats for comps?

hey guys, is there anway to fully cover up tattoos when it comes competition time? or is there only a bit of disguising that can be done? i would assume that eventually if you kept putting layer upon layer of tan your skin could hide a tattoo completely but you'd probably sacrifice some definition with the thick coat of fake tan on your skin..
how do you guys go about hiding your tats?

thanks GS but that looks pretty simple and wouldnt be very effective i dont think, looks like ordinary make up to me. id think there'd be some type of tanning cream that would be more suited to hiding tattoo's.
does anybody have any experience with this?

I have the same problems. I have a full sleeve on my right arm and a half sleeve on my left with other assorted Tats all over me. I was wondering this also.

I think a good airbrush artist could cover them up and make you look dark as fuck at the same time.

I have competed in shows where some guys had heavy tats on their arms and backs.... If you can find a spray tan specialist, you can really cover those up pretty well. I have seen some regions all too often down place guys who look great and should be near the top, except that their tattoos take away from the entire package.

There are cosmetics you can use before your tanning application. Since I choose not to cover all my ink for shows, I don't have experience with it because I never took the time to do test runs and figure out what works best. If you do choose this route though, I think it would be best if you don't wait until the night before the show to figure out how to do it. :)

Dermablend is the product I used to cover my ink for my cousin's engagement party 3 years ago. At the time, my grandfather didn't know that his precious granddaughter's arms were ink covered and I wanted to hide it from him. Nobody at the party knew unless someone told them, at which point they got close to examine my arm and try to "see". It covered well, but it was thick (thicker than foundation) so you have to let it dry. All night I was trying to avoid getting too close to family members in photos because I didn't know if it would rub off on anyones clothes, lol. For a BB show though, your already covered in tanning products so you don't have to worry about that issue.

If it helps, here's a pic of me with the dermablend and another pic of what my ink looks like.

pretty much same as me, i have tat going up both arms and a bit on my back and 1 on my chest. i have no doubt it would make me score less in a comp, than if i didnt have them.

thats a pretty good job covering up your tat steph, looks like ill have to get some of that stuff and have a go at it.

wow! That's impressive, Steph!! It covered your ink really well.

i dnt plan on ever covering mine up, then again im no pro bodybuilder YET LOL

but i recently saw a few pics of lee preist and he had his WHOLE back tatt'ed up

do you think he ll leave it?

i saw the new priest pics where he's guest posing in sunshine coast, i think he'll def cover it for any comps no way could he could get away with a decent score going in the with hardly any visbible muscle on his back.

Thanks! There's different shades, of course... so you may need to play with it and get the one that closest resembles your complexion! You could also go to department stores at the mall and see if any of the cosmetics salespeople could assist you. They could probably test different colors directly on you so that you can see it before you commit to a purchase!

i read on yahoo news today, Rapper 50 cent has been getting lazer removal of his tats....how wierd..

it made me think of getting rid of mine.........
\

NOT!

Is he really? From what I know, laser removal isn't recommended for those with darker skin. The laser targets dark pigment (which in his case would be anything the laser touched) which could essentially cause hyperpigmentation - permanently removal of the pigment in his skin so he'd have light blotches all over the place...

they had some pics....I was surprised...

I heard lazer removal hurts worse than getting them...

Yeah it's supposed to be like a rubberband repeatedly snapping against your skin. Then when it's healing, the area gets blistered. It's not very pleasant at all, but at least it's an option I suppose...

That makes two of us, lol. I do have one that I question from time to time, but I don't have plans to do anything about it. I want to finish my left arm and get another one, so those will come long before I ever (IF ever) lose any.
