Ghillie Suit

243 is a great round. Its a smaller faster necked down 308. Very flat shooter. IIRC the drop out to 300 yards for 243 is only like 6-8 inches. Good hunting round for medium to small game. I shot my last pig with 243 and it was a through and through lung shot. Pig ran about 50 feet and collapsed. Devastating exit wound.

Yeah I use to go deer hunting with my ex-father in law. I killed a 8 point buck around 200 yards with it. Now I'm just saving it for one of my boys.

Go see them and talk to them. Its not that far of a drive from you. I would give a testicle to have the Anzio 20mm.

The 20mm requires a tax stamp and register with the BATFE since its larger than 50cal.
I didnt know that it required a tax stamp. Spent the last hour or so discussing this with Silk, but if it requires a stamp I won't be purchasing it. That's just TOO much on the radar for me. I have this incredible tendency to have my firearms stolen shortly after purchase. Silk OK'd the 50 BMG though so that will be my house warming gift to myself. Still undecided as to the Anzio vs a Bushmaster. The Anzio is less expensive, but there has to be a reason. I really want incindiary rounds. I don't know if I am able to acquire them though.
Back on topic though... I really need a Ghilie suit too Lol!

what does that mean?

I've been duck hunting with the Dude twice now, both times the firearms fell out of the canoe. Damnedest thing...

Lol! True Story! Didn't you have 3 or 4 firearms stolen from the car on both of those trips?!

I don't know how true this is, but I've heard the 338 Lapua is a better sniper rifle, but the 50 BMG is a badass anti vehicle gun and that's what I want it for. There is like a 1/2 mile long driveway to our house site.

I will say this, regardless of the round. caliber, distance, etc... so on and so on, the most important thing is SKILL which = to practice, practice, practice lol. Its kind of like saying a 1200c motorcycle will blow a 600cc motorcycle off the road. It really depends on the operator. Get something that you can afford to practice with and get as many rounds down range as you can. I suck at long distance shooting as well as motorcycling but its due to lack of practice which is due to lack of money, lol...

I don't know if I would call that "bad ass", lol

Take that bitch to the range and the first round you fire down range will turn every head there. There wouldn't be a swingin dick on the rifle range that would think that was badass.

Any 50 at the range will make heads turn and / or peak someone's interest. I'm just asking "why this make and model". That's all I'm asking bro.

From what I've learned its b/c it has a milled receiver (as opposed to stamped), titanium firing pin, and several other upgrades. The cost is also spectacular given to quality of materials.

I'm pretty well practiced and my new property will also feature its own shooting range (make shift, nothing special) I don't know for others, but given mine and CH3N02's level of experience we may not practice as much with the more expensive calibers, but the only difference is the felt recoil. I adjust my aim based on the weapon's zero. I doubt I'll do much practice with the 50 BMG since rounds are $5 a piece, but I practice with other rifles.

Myself and CH3NO2 would be BFF's if we were neighbors, lol I don't know him at all but I can already tell he knows his shit. I just like to debate things like this. We "ALL" learn things from discussions like this. CH3NO2, please don't take my post the wrong way bro... I'm not some asshole trying to pick a fight bro.

So what optic will you choose for the weapon system sir?

I don't know squat about optics. In fact the only "optic" I have is an Eotech XPS2 on my AR. In all honesty I'll probably have CH3N02 choose a scope for me. He is totally up to date with models and great prices. I'm hoping to get as close to a 600 yard zero as possible so I'm assuming I'll be investing in some pretty decent glass. From what I've learned I think a 4x - 15x NightForce would work, but as I said I don't know much about Scopes.
I'm looking at AK's for Silk and will also be looking at a scope for that rifle so maybe its time I looked seriously into them
