May be a dumb question but maybe some of you have read the research on increased hematocrit levels from the use of AAs. (Testosterone and more). my question is whether or not giving a unit of blood every now and then to keep the Hematocrit down would adversely affect the positives of AAs use. a high blood level can be good and bad bit can I get the benefits of Testosterone use without the high hematocrit. The Dr the other day told me I needed to give blood if it was high again or he would lower my trt if I didnt. Thought about giving a unit just before testing to satisfy him. Lol.

In my opinion the good outweighs the bad. Having high hematocrit levels to the point of a negative effect will set you back even further. We're in this for the long haul.

If I understand it correctly, high hematocrit level causes high blood pressure and associated heart problems, and carries some health risk. If donating a pint of blood takes care of it, do it. A doc explained to me that red blood cells have a life span of 90 days, or something like that. So reducing the dose of test and waiting long enough will cause the hematocrit level to drop as well.

RBCs have a life span of 120 days and carry oxygen. There not going to do me any good outside of my body if I give it away. One of my questions was would I still benefit from testosterone use and other AAs if I gave enough blood to pull my hematocrit level down to normal. Therefore be a normal guy rather than someone who has grwat potential. Blood doping has its benefits, thats y its done. I may be answering my own question really lol I guess a high hematocrit and rbc count is really beneficial to bodybuilding for nutrient transfering ability.

I tried to donate the other day because my levels are high but I couldn't because my BP was to high because of my HGB and Hematocrit. talk about a rock and a hard place.
