How many sets do you all do for tris and bis? When I do them, I only train for 6-7 total sets, but my friend swears by 9+. I just can't see that many being beneficial for smaller muscles

When I started doing less sets for my bi's, they began to grow. It took me years to finally figure that out. Now days I don't do more than 8 sets each of bi's and tri's. Especially since I work bi's on back day, and tri's on chest and shoulder day.

8-9 and there is always a supper set in there..never more than that unless im just doing that muscle group then I might go to 12 and do 3 burn out sets..but that is very rare..

Yesterday I did 6 after doing shoulders and I felt a great pump and was cashed after that. I don't think I would get much out of anything more than maybe 8 tops

Sets or exercises? I do at least one exercise as a drop or double drop set or negative reps to really burn the hell out of them so that can be 6-7 sets alone. As far as the rest of the workout I do around 16 sets at least which is about 4 different exercises.

One thing with arms is when I went back east to train with my trainer he explained the true range of motion of the arm. Knowing that, in my opinion you have to hit the arms with that in mind.

My biceps are stubborn and weak. I do enough until I cant do anymore. Volume. I only train Tricpes once per month. They are 1 of my best genetic parts. After shoulders and chest, my triceps are fried anyway. I think there is no one answer fits all.

By far my tris are quicker to grow than my bis. I've started working bis 2-3 times a week now and starting see some growth. Of course I don't do as many sets as Im working them multiple times each week.

oh I meant different exercises Buffalo good point, sets is wayyyyyyyy more

I like super setting with Bi's and Tri's, 4-5 sets for me, but that's also 2 x a week. Isolated movements or close grip first, then cables, great pumps. I try to stay in the 4-5 set range, with about three different exercise per body part. But I'll switch it up also with 15-20 reps then down to 10,8,4.

4-6 each only. I grow more from compound movements than isolation.

I get more out of compound movements also. I switch it up with a volume workout now and then now, but not too heavy and concentrate on the squeeze. 4-6 sets of 10-12 reps either way.
