Pull overs I know their suppose to be good for ribcage expansion.... Should I bother incorporating them into my routine?

The gym I'm working out at now has a pull over machine and I plan on using it tomorrow to warm up for back. I watched dugdale use it under dorian's guidance, and it seems to really hit his lats the way he did it. It's worth a try man. On a side note, make sure to give it some time to really see if the workout if benefitting you or not. Sometimes it might take a number of workouts for you to find the best way to do a certain movement.

ya know i never done these on a regualr basis , tryed them a couple times, didnt like em at all! i worryed about an old injury i had over ten years ago i was doing deep incline fly and collapsed a lung and had to be in hospital for a over a week it was hell, and those pullover scare me as i was told once a lung collapses theres always a 50/50 chance it happens again

I don't like the exercise too much and have never consistantly done them. I stick with the more up and down movements. Bent over rows, cable rows, lat pull downs, pull ups, etc.

That sounds terrible Presser...I try to stay somewhat light on the incline fly for that reason as well as a huge fear that I'll tear my pec muscle.

Hence the reason that you just now scared me to where I will never do incline flys , unless its on a machine.

But Im not a big fan of them , but I tried them like a week or two ago when I could go to the gym , I did 45's on dumbell pullups , feet on ground , back on a bench seat , They really gave my chest bones/ ribcage a stress feeling like if I went really heavy it would break open my rib cage.

I read somewhere that pullovers were good for rib cage growth so that was the reason I asked.

If I incorporate them to my routine I will probably use them as a finishing exercise for the muscle groups , Which what muscle group do you recommend I throw em in for.

Don't be scared to do dumbell flyes. They're one of my favorite exercises, but you need to practice caution with the amount of weight you use. I always typically go lower on my weight and try to focus on good form and slow controlled movement so I don't hurt myself. It's like many other exercises in the fact that if done incorrectly they can really hurt you.

if you do them right they will give you nice seperation in the serratus area so yes is the answer you are looking for

I used to do heavy dumbell pullovers a lot but they can be rough on the shoulders.
In the old days they used to think pullovers would expand the ribcage but if your done
growing I think ribcage size is pretty much genetic.
As far as pullovers go - some guys do them for chest and some do them for back.
I go for the big stretch (I do them with the bench across my back and my butt low -
not laying ON the bench - more stretch) and I feel them more in my back and my tri's
get sore also. I still feel them in my chest too. When I do this exercise I throw it in
at the end of my chest and start of my back workout. Just makes sense to me.
I suggest you do them and see where you feel them. (where you get sore). Just dont
go too heavy too fast or you will pull something. Let us know.

I just got back from the gym. I also just got done formatting my computer.

I did a video log of my workout today , so ... I will be posting a link to view the video.

I have inclined seated presses... like where your layin on an angle and doing over the head presses.

Sort of like a pullover , with a press combines. you will see soon I started light and worked with caution. I will be switching from front , to standing vertical press , then seated reverse direction on the incline bench.

To target the different areas of my shoulders while still being a compound movement , the trick is not to do straight out over the head but more of an angle in front of you but you shall see. I actually like the exercise.
