Local guy did a Physique show...

I knew this guy was getting ready for a show, but didn't know what he was doing. Come to find out it was a physique show and he even looked like an idiot in that, I don't get why anyone would diet down and then do this shit. He finished last in his class (well 16th, but everyone in the bottom finishes 16th). I thought this guy was gay before hand and now really think he's on the fence. He was so proud of himself too, I saw his pics yesterday and just got disgusted. I really think they should do away with this shit

Lol yeah I had a guy email me last week for MuscleChemistry sponsorship and he was an NPC Physique competitor . I just can't bring myself to get behind the Physique class .

I don't understand the reason behind the physique competition in the first place. There are a lot of guys in those competitions that would make great bodybuilders, and I suppose I have to understand if they don't want to be that "big"— but they should at least train their legs. There's a guy at my gym that competes in physique shows, yet he could be an awesome bb'er if he wanted to. He has the genetics for it and the dedication so why not go for the whole thing? It isn't like these physique guys don't use gear, because they do.

Out here in Cali at all the NPC shows phyquie dominates 3/1 with contestants compared to bodybuilders.....with so many classes / division for these guys most of the shows don't get over usually until midnight....thankfully they do all BB in the very beginning of the night show.....but for the board short wearing GQ boys who don't train legs their sorry ass gets to be there all night......it's painful but big big business for the NPC...who just raised the fee for your yearly NPC card to $125....these team nutri- shop t-shirt wearing phyquie guys really think they're the shit........

I went to an APC show here a couple of years and some guys I know did a little fake posing thing in board shorts at the end of the show. it was hilarious.

while my legs aren't great they're not that bad either. I think I could skip a meal, spray tan and kill one of these things. however I think that's no grand accomplishment. might be the body building equilavant of bragging about blowing a hundred dudes in one sitting. yeah, congrats but you did just blow a hundred dudes. :laugh:

yep same here, physique and bikini rule. and the shows go till midnight,but they do mens finals at the end and the place is empty because all the girly classes are done.

This whole thing was a money maker for the NPC. From strictly a monetary standpoint, this is a genius move, but for anyone that into bodybuilding, I think it's a slap in the face. Mainly because bodybuilders take so much time to actually train and build everything equally and then these fucktards come in and obviously do the same workout that every high school kid does yet they get so much attention from the crowds.

These guys just don't have the physiques to compete in BB class. But the chicks dig the look, and these guys probably get a lot of pussy. I think the rules soon change to eliminate the board shorts.
