Though not many, there have been studies done that shows niacin can help with cholesterol & when was the last time you got a niacin flush off eating your normal diet?? Chances of that are very slim, considering people generally have to take a large ammount to get that effect & usually to get some of the extra health benefits (like cholesterol), you have to take even larger ammounts. Like I said, diet & overall health are a big deal always, but things like niacin & certain oils can help to.
Btw, I am speaking out of experience because I am on prescription niacin as well. It's just another one of those things that is very common, but it can have multiple health benefits.
But we dont need flushing effect of niacin if we flushing with cardio.
The # 1 benifit in preventing hardening of arteries in men and Atherrosclerosis is diet and cardio both together.
This is a disease developed by cholesterol clogging arteries.
Niacin is an aid but correcting it is most important. Using gear puts us at higher risk if not careful!!!
It's like this I love my kids I am 42 and wanna see them graduate college and get married.
I learned long ago that I gotta keep my bf low and my BMI under 31 plan and simple.
Even if 8% BMI over 31 for too long we will develop fatty liver to be able to fuel muscle cells, so that puts us at risk.
I once was 5'8" same as now but 34 and was 8% 230lbs I realized I was never gonna be a pro and that I wasn't comfortable and was warned about the risk. I have alot of stretch marks where muscle bulged and I had high bp and bad lipids and my Dr I hide nothing from who knows what I do still today told me, it's not what u doing that will get u!!! It's the size the I was staying at.
I switched training and still have 30 bmi today and I settled for that.
Now I only try to be leaner at the 30 bmi!!
I am 7% and doing lots of cardio thru DC training. I am still far from average and have alot of size.
42 trying to stay under 10% and not over 205 at 5'8".
People always wonder why I start a blast and not gaining tons of weight.
But older muscle we earned long ago gets harder and denser as it matures, muscle fibers get harder and denser as it matures!
And I only shoot for lean gains which realilistic is 2lbs a year after 7-8 years of steady working out.
Without insulin and what not
