Just checked my email at work and it said we had a mandatory meeting monday that required everyone, even the people that are usually off on monday. Then after some phones I find out that they're doing away with my division. This weekend is gonna blow because I wont get any sleep.
May be unemployed next week.

Probably would be great but I gotta 2 month old to think about know. If I was single and no kids I'd wouldnt give a damn, go ahead lay me off. Probably lose would lose my mind.
Sorry to hear that. The anticipation of it would drive me insane too. Maybe they will just put you somewhere else. I can understand your concern with the kiddo. I have two myself and more than anything you want them to have everything you can give them.

Well did get some good news. My wifes dad is a politician and she said he could probably get me a job doing private security for other politicians. Sounds interesting but dont know if i want to get involved with that, but a nice state job would be great.

background checks for that kind of work are very very extensive...similar to what one goes thru when obtaining a secret/top secret clearance.....be prepared
Yeah thats what I was thinking, but a regular state job would still be nice.

Oh yeah--- they did that to me December of 2008.. They called a mandatory and told everyone that our department was going away. We had to re-apply for jobs within the company and not every one was going to get a job- if you didn't you were on your own and had 60 days to find a job on your own, if not you were terminated.
Not pretty- I had to go through 9 interviews before they decided they were going to hire me for another position, and then made people wait 3 weeks till they told you yes or no....
It's fun...
