Something that has been really helping me this year is that I've been watching some of the videos here very closely to see the technique used. I can see that most of these big guys move very deliberately and specifically. In looking at my own training, it seemed like my muscles were "shortcutting" the movements. Kind of like using the least amount of muscle to complete the movement. I don't do it on purpose, it just happens. So, I started to go for the feeling. I reduced weight for a couple of weeks and at first went slowly, taking time to contract the muscle and flex it hard at the peak of the concentric part of the movement, then I'd increase the speed to be as explosive as possible without losing the feeling of the contraction. All I can say is in the last couple of months, I've made some major increases in strength and size even while only being at HRT levels. As I adjust my diet, I'm also starting to see a small weight gain as well.
I think that theoretically most guys are able to do this instinctively/naturally which is why they respond so well. Others (like me) have to learn it. I only wish I had learned it 20 years ago, lol.
