I learned a long time ago that you can't change someone you can only change yourself or your expectations. If she chooses to change and be neater than you've got hope if she just keeps rejecting the idea you're screwed. If you can learn to live with it than good for you but I wouldn''t be able to.

couldnt agree more.. not sure if anyone of u guys like or even heard of pastor joel osteen but in his newest book he talkes about not letting other ppl steal your joy. U hear alot of ppl say things like.. i would just be happy is my boss wasnt a dick, or in this case if my wife wasnt a slob.. but like u said u can only change yourself... im a neat and clean kinda guy myself so that crap would really get under my skin also.. but over the last year and a half ive changed alot and i dont let many things bother me like i used to.

In NA meetings this is said alot " insanity is caused my doing the same things over and over but expecting a different result" why would there be a different result after the fight when there hasnt been all the other times?? instead of fighting about it.. try to ignore it.. pretend like all the crap isnt piled up there.. MAYBE since u keep cleaning it.. she knows she can be a slob and ull eventually clean it up.. hopfully she will get sick of seeing the mess and start cleaning it up herself :thumbsup:

Lol, this is an old thread. But ill keep you guys updated. She IS trying. But seriously, when i let things go, the whole house is fu-ed up. She will let things pile and pile till you cant set anything down cause every surface in the house has crap over it. Or you have to walk down little pathways cause sh*t is everywhere. Believe me, its not that simple.
