Its tough to watch. Its crystal clear the dog charges the cop and from about two feet away he shoots the dog in what appears to be the head.

I thought he shot the dog in the back at first the way the dog's back legs looked almost paralyzed before it finally stopped moving. Either way I would've shot the dog too despite everyone yelling. I deal with dogs a lot in my work and if a dog charges at me I'm beating it period. I've done so in front of the owner and they get pissed, but the dog should be detained no matter what. I don't care if it's a nice dog or not, if it has teeth, it'll bite. I've seen nice dogs get overly protective when they sense something or someone isn't right or shouldn't be around. It's hard to think about it afterwards, but at the time you just have to look out for yourself and your own safety

That's sad man. That dog thought it was doing the right thing protecting its owner. That guy should be charged with Neglect. He obviously can't care for the dog if he is constantly having alcohol and drug induced seizures. It's his fault that all of that happened.

I agree Dude. Its tough to watch but the dog was impeding any EMS getting to the guy. He also was not on a leash.

Even if he was on a leash it wouldn't have done any good since the guy couldn't have held on to the leash. I wanna know why a homeless man has a pitbull as a pet in the first place

Yeah but if the dog was attached to a leash, you could have grabbed the leash and taken control of the dog.

That's true, I wasn't thinking of that. It still would've been hard, but with as many people as there were I'm sure someone could've grabbed it. Good point

omg that was aweful :(

but even after they had shot the dog, did anyone else notice that the cops never went over to the guy on the ground?

I love dogs but I was more upset at the people who are yelling at the cop. I wonder how they would have felt if the guy died if he was in dire need of medical attention. I would have not done anything different.

If he's having a seizure it is safer that they leave him alone. Cops have no medical experience other than cpr
