Universal kits Busted (10 days ago), AndroUSA, AnabolicMinds and Steroidology named in bust
Sorry for not getting this information up sooner. This is not a new bust, but rather an older one, right around the same time that all the other ones went down. Universal Kits was busted for selling Drug Paraphernalia. This basically means needles, sterile oil, and conversion kits used for home brewing.
Read the official bust document by clicking here.
The actual charges were selling and using the US mail to transport drug paraphanalia, and money laundering. Research Lab Supply was charged with the same, I believe.
This particular bust involved an informant based in Rhode Island, who was trafficing steroids and HGH and set up many people, including Universal Kits, to get off the hook. Basically, the informant contacted Universal Kits and said “I’m going to make some tren for me to inject, how many kits do I need….etc…” and got a representitive from Universal Kits to talk about the illegal use of their products. That knowledge of the illegal use of their products seems to be the clincher in this case.
The owner of Universal Kits was interviewed by agents, and for some reason decided he should probably talk about his business. Ummm…yeah. Great Move.
He named Steroidology and AnabolicMinds as two out of the 20 sites he advertised on. He grossed $250k in sales and decided that he didn’t need to pay any taxes on that. So they got him for tax evasion also. Brilliant. He was buying his syringes from AndroUsa, and they were also named in the bust documents, although only in passing.
The informant also purchased a vial of Clenbuterol from Universal Kits…
The person from Universal Kits who had been e-mailing with the informant (who was asking about Clenbuterol use) advised the informant to log onto different AAS forums, to learn about that drug, in order to avoid incriminating himself - although he directed the informant to sites which discussed the illegal use of that Non-FDA approved drug in humans. This served as confirmation that the informant (customer) was intending to use the product for something other than “research”…and likely served to further implicate the owner of Universal Kits for knowingly supplying the informant/customer with a non-fda approved drug for personal consumption.
Other e-mails dealt with the customer/informant talking about converting test prop powder, making injections more painless, etc…basically, anything that the customer/informant could e-mail the owner of the company about to make it totally clear that he was aware that his products were being used for illegal purposes.
Again, duh.
Again, this is an old bust, about 10 days old, and involved a very long-standing company. I am, however, of the opinion that any company who has answered e-mails like this one could be at risk…and the companies that operate their own forums where people talk about illegally using their products for human/personal (not research) purposes, is also at risk. In other words, if you sell clenbuterol for “research” and also own a site where it is talked about for human consumption for fat loss, and your company reps talk about using it to lose fat, etc…then you are in the same boat as Universal Kits (well, except for the Tax Evasion charges).
I can’t imagine that almost ANY conversion kit company advertising on the boards is exempt from this type of thing.
Thus far, the only Lab Supply and conversion companies who have been targeted were ones also violating the most important commandment:
Thou shalt not fuck with the government’s money!
(Remember Al Capone?)
So far, no “true” research chem companies have been targeted, although Lemelange (who I think is probably legit, but sold high quantity sterile oil and conversion supplies to many of the larger Underground Labs) was served with a warrant, and their database seized by authorities.
The research chem companies with “official” company reps who talk about using their products (human use) and who own and operate sites/forums where the illegal use of their drugs is discussed are probably at some risk. Certainly, when you post about how Arimidex is used in humans, and sell it on a bodybuilding/steroid site, you are at some kind of risk…though, I doubt as much risk as the conversion companies.
I don’t know for sure, we’ll have to wait this out.
In related news, KaoticChemistry, a conversion kit site that advertised on ProfessionalMuscle (shocking, I know) is out of business. I don’t know if they’re busted or just closed up shop.
When I spoke to various news outlets over the last week, they all asked about research chem companies, and my stance was that going after them was the worst thing the government can do. These companies supply products intended to help users avoid side effects, with clean needles, etc…and I really feel that going after an underground lab is one thing, but going after a site providing clean needles and products to help people avoid side effects is really out of line.
