Ok, I'm seeing it now.

you should also get an email sent to you every time someone likes or thanks you, you can of course turn this feature off, but its on by default so people not browsing the site can be alerted through email that someone liked or thanked them and they can follow the link in email to that thread,

I haven't gotten any emails. Maybe I somehow turned it off?
