Gotta say, l left there not feeling good about the NPC. First off there was people there that shouldnt have been there, and I was about the only one that spoke up to discuss issues. Also, they are looking to add alot more shows in the area, which is ok with me, will be interested to see how this plays out. And get ready for longer shows, they are adding teen bikini and teen physique. Fitness will be brought back also. Womens Bodybuilding is on its way out. But what as got me uneasy is the judging. They still could not answer me straight in what Figure women should look like. So you have no idea how to bring in and prep a person for a show. There was a lot brought up, so ask if you got a question and maybe I can answer it.

It's all about the dollar vs the art of the perfect physique. If there was a perfect physique standard then there wouldn't be even a fraction of the hopefulls you see on stage now.
Years ago if you had the genetics and the package you could step on stage and do damage. Now it's all about "paying your dues". Unfortunately that statement is literal now as opposed to figurative years ago

honestly i think more shows doesnt really mean more people competing, i think most people will stick to the more well known shows or the one thats dates coincide with the bathing suit season.

I'm no competitive threat, but if I were I probably still wouldn't compete because
1. You don't know what they want
2. Don't want to have to pay to do 10 shows before I'm placed fairly
3. I don't want to pay to be on a special "Team" just to get a fair look
Teams generate big money, if you don't give them priority (which they do) no one would pay the big money to be on a "Team".
Speaking of which, have you considered doing a "Team"? You're a high National level competitor, have brought others in looking great (men and women) and you're on the judging panel... That could be a pretty stout bump to your income

Going back to what The Dude said, this is why I don't compete.

As much as I don't like "teams", everyone IS doing them so it might not be a bad idea Nuk

we talked about this before. Told you manion and his son, i know personally, and well lets just say i hold them in low regard. Also, chris was with me in STL in 2010, and amazingly, they announced every women competitor along with their team. Amazingly, manion had 3 out of 5 top 5 finishers? things that make you go hmmm...women's is even more political then men's. also, it depends on what judges are there too...many an alliance in the NPC

EXACTLY. It's just a cash cow now.

Like I said, JM is one of the worst things for the NPC.

Besides the figure, was there any questions about judging in women's physique?

Yes, I asked about how conditioned should a WP be. Answer was tight, not to dry like a BB, and able to see lines and seperation of all muscles.

Got an email yeaterday from the district chairman thanking me for coming to the meeting and speaking up and addressing issues. Said my name was at the top of the list to bring on as a judge. He really wants me to start judging shows this spring.

All of this is why if I ever compete again it hopefully won't be NPC, but they're so big it's tough to avoid. I'm no national threat or even a threat to win a show but I could possibly win my weight class but that's not really fun if you're serious about competing.
