Squat Form

Hell I want more pics of the girl lol, JK, yeah my shoulder hurts bad enough reaching back holding the bar on my traps, that would kill me.
 
I don't know if it's a powerlifiting move but I see that a lot on powerlifters. I too put the bar on my traps.

I like the picture you posted. It looks like it's a range from traps to rear delt for bar placement.
 
The low bar stuff looks crazy. When I did squat I'd put the bar right on top of my traps. I have to know I'm in control of the bar
 

Me doing 405 for one nice and easy rep. I have to place the bar high on my traps and I cannot place my arms like she has them. I have to hold the bar like the video or it kills my shoulders.

I've gotten 595 with this form before but its been a while.
 
Yep, that is definetly powerlifting form. I recently made the transition from BB to PL and I had to get my shoulders stretched out enough to accomodate that form. For cosmetic purposes, bar placement doesn't matter, but in order to squat the most weight possible, it's necessary to use that bar placement. There are a couple guys who use high bar placement in PLing, but it's rare.

yep, that's a powerlifting squat.

I learned to PL style squatting from the jump. I basically hold the bar on top of my rear delts like a shelf but my hands are out alot further than hers. looking at that pic makes my elbows hurt. in fact most girls I see squatting hold their hands in close like that. I don't know why but it looks to me like that puts a bunch of unnecessary stress on the elbow.
