Strange injury

Fellas, need some advice. I am having a problem with my right hand/ elbow. For the last 2 weeks, when I bench I feel like i am cruching my funny bone. Elbow tingles all the way down to my fingers. The last two times I have worked through it. However, I now have this residual tingling in my fingertips?!?!? Also, seems very easy to agrivate this as sometimes very little movement makes the tingling worse. Any ideas? Hope to avoid the MD on this one as I was just there for a lump (don't want to press my luck ;) )

Depending on where the tingling is (which side of the hand/fingers) sounds like a neve is getting comprssed. For example if tingling is more in the little finger and half of the ring finger it would probably have to do with the ulna nerve being compressed.
The compression could be coming from spine but most likely at the elbow

sounds like a nerve to me as well but it could be a ligament/tendon strain or the like. If you want to avoid your MD you can try a couple of things that I do in situations like this. I'll either go to my chiropractor who can usually diagnose things like this and we can avoid conversations about AAS use ;). Or I go to an accupuncturist who can also treat and diagnose and again avoid AAS use questions... Good luck bro and keep us posted

Definitely 100% is a nerve issue.
The only thing that causes tingling and numbness is nerves!!!!!
What your describing can be caused by nerve impingement or simply due to nerve tension. It would be useful for you to go to your doctor or a physiotherapist to determine what nerve is being affected and exactly where the problem is originating from.
You can do some nerve glides for a week or so and see if it helps but you shouldnt be lifting any weights or doing anythign strenuous as this is going to irritate and put more tension on the nerve.

To do Nerve Glides

The easiest way to do a glide is this

start with your arm straight at your side with palm facing forward
Actively bend wrist backwards and hold that position
Keeping wrist backwards slowly raise arm out to side until you feel the tingling/ shooting pain of numbness in your arm.
Once you feel that you need to bring your arm down just a bit so its not in that region ( there should be no pain ) and then slowly pump your arm up and down just below that range where you get symptoms.

This is a very basic nerve glide if you dont understand or cant elicit symptoms PM me and ill give you some more specific glides to do instead.

I always try to describe to my patients how exactly nerves work and heres the best way i think

Pretend there are like garden hoses in your arm where the nerve runs.
And pretend that the nerve is like a piece of floss.
The floss should move freely and bend with the movement of the garden hose.
Sometimes when stuff builds up insde the garden hose or the garden hose is pinched the piece of floss ( nerve ) cant move freely as it is intended.
By doing this nerve exercise you are somewhat flossing or freeing up the nerve which should amount to less pain and discomfort especially the tingling and numbness caused by the nerve tension.

Hope this helps
if you need more help please PM me
it is somewhat hard to describe things on here sometime

:)

Yikes! That sounds pretty bad. I'd agree with bigjoe that it is a nerve problem.

Getting a little better. Still numb in my middle finger and ring finger. I can feel my first finger again. Really have no idea what happened. I am taking off until Thurs which sucks being on... But hey, better safe than sorry. Scarry S$$& though...

you grow while resting anyway bro! just try and concentrate on your wheels or work on something else and give yourself a few days to recover and you'll come back better than ever. Good luck with it bro.
