Training heavy with Light weight

I'm trying some different things including more volume and using lighter weights and really focusing on each muscle. My inner thigh is still injured so I thought I would just do some things today to get blood in the quads. After several sets on the leg extension I got on the Strive Leg Press. Normally this machine is useless as it only goes up to 500lbs or so. To get from feeling anything in my inner thigh I put my knees together and my heels on the bottom of the platform. I was able to completely smoke my quads with about 220ls. I kept my toes back only my heels touching the platform. Keeping constant tension on the quads I couldn't do more than 20 or so and my quads swelled up immediately. I'm thinking about trying this on everything. It felt amazing and there was no tension on my joints or anything other than my inner quads. Anyone try doing this?

i have had an inner thigh (groin) pull for about a month, i do the leg press the same way at the bottom feet really close and it doesnt bother my groin.

i like to start with hams now, then do leg extensions, then leg press, and the odd thing is i can do the squat machine and squats ok so i just do high reps and the pumps are great.

i like to chase the pump on legs now days.

I too have been hitting hams before anything else. I seem to get much better workouts! Pre exhausting hams has helped with quad development as well

I've not been doing much heavy lifting at all and have been sticking to at least 10 reps a set. It's been working great so far

I normally pre exhaust chest, but this morning every D bag in the world was in line for the cable machines so I had to start with Incline Hammer. Normally I don't go over 3 plates and a 25 and really focus and do high reps. Today I did 3 plates for 24 reps and then 4 plates a side for 17. I got an amazing contraction, but I couldn't get my pecs to squeeze for the life of me for my 7 sets at the end. They were contracted if I touched them, but I couldn't feel them contracting. Really weird. I'm hoping Jenn spreads the wealth with what she is being taught by her trainer. Damn does that chic know her shit!! She has to be 220lbs and 6%.
