There was a lot of bashing going on, with not one iota of evidence to back up why supps. are so bad. What I got from it was that the people who want to have a bit of bulk on themselves are somehow not good people.

I am so sick of the media and all the dudly-do-rights bashing the sport and the surrounding supp compaines. What they fail to recognize is that america is getting fatter on the average because they are following goverment led propaganda and diet and exersize. I don't know how you can point the finger at a culture of ripped athletes and call thier methods unhealthy.

The problem is most likely that he had a perpetual hard-on from looking at the hottest women on the planet (ie, fitness and bb women) but was seriously outclassed and out of his league. When he found that not even one of the models (including the dog faced chick that sold a pic to Saks) would give him the time of day, he took the "pen is mightier than the sword" approach, and hopped on the bodybuilding bashing bandwagon. Say that three times fast....

Personally I am a consumer, and Hell Yes I want each and every one of those companies trying for my business. I say let more of them show every year. With their advertisements and support we can make this bodybuilding shit shine. As for athelets dying taking some over the counter stuff, bull shit! Those athelets spend much more on their prostitutes, drugs and alcohol. Ban that shit? Never, it brings too much money.

Well this is what I did, I posted that link to every site fitness related that I visit and I wrote ESPN this letter. I think that we all should write a letter and email it to them. I sent this letter to every mail box in ESPN that I could find.
To whom it may concern
I have just finished reading the article about the Arnold Classic written by Shaun Assael. I would say that this is the worst trash that I have ever seen any sports reporter put into print. The title alone is wrong “a business that wouldn’t die”, this makes it sound like a sick infestation that one can’t get rid of. Then he goes on to comment rudely about individuals and the venders of the show. If you were to walk around the show yourself you could easily see that this is one of the most laid back, nicest groups of individuals that you could ever meet. These people take time to come and show off innovative products that can improve the daily life of any given individual, along with giving back to the fans. With ESPN being the supposed sports authority I would have thought that you would have had enough sense to send an unbiased individual to cover a fitness expo. The thousands of people that visited this expo where the same people that once watched your sports show, read your magazine, and logged on to your website. We as a whole feel betrayed by the sports authority on there betrayal of our beloved expo. I think that the FOX sports network just got a lot more viewers. The most upsetting thing about the article is that Shaun had the gaul to say that a 9-year-old boy learned about steroids at this event. Making his father sound like some kind of behemoth for bringing him. This expo was about fitness and health and definitely not drugs. If Shaun as a reporter can’t see this than maybe he shouldn’t be worrying about deadlines and more about getting down to Rx Optical to get his eyes checked.

that article sounds 100% like jealousy. it was a world that he couldn't imagine fitting in, let alone scoring a chick in. i say don't bother with the letters. i wouldn't trade being a bodybuilder for anything in the world, not even money. let them think what they want, the less people that know our secret the better it is for us.
I also sent them an email voicing my disgust with the article. I've emailed ESPN many times asking where is their coverage of bodybuilding. I can turn on their fucking channel and see such boring "sports" as hunting, fishing and bowling every week, yet never anything about bodybuilding. Which do you think are athletes, the skinny guy who smokes and drinks, but gets up and rolls a 16# ball across the floor then goes and sits down again, or the guy who lifts weights every a day, carefully plans his diet and supplement use and logs countless hours on cardio machines? It's not about steroids or supplement use either. ESPN does show the MetRX World's Strongest Man competition. They just don't like bodybuilders for some reason. Here's a sample of what's on ESPN this week. Today 2.5 hours of bowling from 11:30 to 2:00pm, Friday a 2.5 hour spelling bee (definitely my favorite sport) from 2:00 to 4:30, ESPN2 has 4.5 hours of bowling on Friday from 1:30 to 6:00pm and then 5 hours of fishing immediately following that.

It's a buch of crap. And its not about being a secret or anything like that. It's about someone not lying to the public about shit that never happened. Saying a 9 yr old boy said he learned about steroids is a bunch of shit and makes the entire industry look like hell. I for one like this industry and am not going to let this trash of a report run his mouth.

A few others wrote letters and one actually got a response. The writer tried to down play the entire thing and said that it was a hard hitting article and truthful. What a bunch of shit.
