Nobody doesn't love prop....lol
Yea I had lots pain the next day could barley move my leg or my shoulder. There was lots of weird stuff in the filters which looked like crystals. Do you think it's possible it could have crashed whilst filtering so I was only injecting gso, Ba, and bb? Really confused. Any suggestions on why and maybe a recipe with 1% Ba 20%bb for 100mg per ml
Thanks for the reply mate, yeah I have absolutely no clue what bb does, maybe it keeps it suspended? Will defo have a read. And thanks for the great advice I will try that recipe tomorrow. How much ml of gso do I use? Was thinking 89 but the powder itself fills some of the beaker. I heat the solution lots in a pan and it all dissolves and stays dissolved even when it's cooler but as soon as I filter it the filters get clogged with crystal like things. It even clogs up with sticky looking stuff which becomes almost a solid and kinda feels like a hair. Looking forward to your next reply. Hopefully I can crack this and get a nice working batch without all the crap in the filter. That's prop for ya, however I believe its the BA content ad the high BB. I posted under this forum section about BA and BB and their uses.
Do you know why your using BB? Most have no clue and honestly I rarely do.
The crystals you see are super saturated solution crystals. Heat your solution and I bet you they go away. You may have done your gram measurements incorrect or added less oil.
per your 100ml do 2ml BA and 9ml BB and make sure you heat the solvents in your powder while adding heated oil and keep swirling. You will bind them together and cease the titration that its causing at room temp. Do this until all oil is added and the solution looks clear then allow to cool some to room temp then filter.
Try this.
I am using 0.22um whatman filters. I never got the temperature of the water but I turned the dial to the las number (6) and the water was boiling hot. Thanks for the conversions, on another site I saw that 10g of test prop was 7.5ml but I use very accurate scales to measure it out and accurate syringes to measure out the bb and Ba and a huge veterinary horse syringe for the gsoWhat kind of filters are you using?
You deduct the mg and ml from your volume and the remainder will be your oil for example
1 gram test p= displacement approx. 1 ml
2ml ba+=displacement 1 ml
9ml bb =displacement 9mls
for a 50ml solution equals 38 mls of oil left to add..(JUST AN EXAMPLE DONT USE THIS RECIPE ITS JUST AN EXAMPLE)
Some heavier raws will take more room like EQ for instance so decrease your total volume of oil by 1ml for every 5 grams of EQ used.
Are you over heating your solution above 125 degrees?
You should heat in a water bath of boiling water, this will allow no direct contact with the heat source or your magnet stirrer will work just adjust the heat.
Mine are PVDF ones. Ok will take note on the water heat levels. Ok so for my next try I will use 2ml of BA 9ml of BB and 80.5 ml of grape seed oil. Do you think it will pass through the filter ok now? Or could it crash again? ThanksFilters come in PTFE or PTVD and other types of membranes. What type is yours it should say on the filter paper or the syringe filter.
You don't need the water boiling hot if its that hot its over 136 degrees. Warm to where is letting of steam is sufficient.
BB is a thinner and will help thin the solution as well as act as a solvent (dissolving agent) for some raws.
