So Today I find out a family friend that was friends with my Mom just under 50 years, has known me since birth, I called her Aunt has passed away, My Dad is Hospitalized as of today. I had to call out of tomorrows shift aka Christmas shift, so I wouldn't be surprised that I get written up or fired due to the timing. The timing due to my Dad being the one to watch kids tomorrow but he's in a hospital bed and my Mom being the 2nd, too torn up to do so........ What a month....

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. People can let tragedy destroy them, fill them with anger, rage and hate. Or you can let it define you as a person and grow from it. Death is natural and inevitable. While it hurts right now it will only get better.

Stay positive and keep your mind filled with friends and family brother.

Merry Christmas.

Damn metal sorry to he all that. I know exactly how it is man. Keep pushing along thing will get better I do believe things al happen for a reason. Even in bad situations good lessons are learned. God bless, merry Christmas. Ill pray for you and your family bro.

sorry to hear, it has been some year all around. It is times like these where, for me anyways, it makes
it clear what my priorities are. Also it makes our usual little daily problems seem like "luxury" problems.
Hopefully your work will understand with your dad being hospitalized. Prayers and good wishes your way bro.

Do you have FMLA coverage at work?? Most do. If so, get it filled out and your employer can't fire you or write you up. Federally protected. And this definitely qualifies. I wish you the best Brother. I know work is probably low on your list right now, just take it one step at a time and embrace your faith.

Thanks everyone, Dad got out of the hospital, and my 4 month old got the flu.... Fuggggg
I didn't even think of FMLA, I am sure I would have to obtain the death cert though and I'm not going 1200 miles to where she is due to 2 babies, really can't do it right now.
I appreciate everyone's thoughts, and hope you all had a great safe Christmas, and that in continues past the new year.

Do not need a death cert. A faxed Dr's note will suffice or even an Obit from the newspaper. I've gotten very good at protecting my self from the criminals that run things where I used to work. They eventually got what they wanted. A fat lawsuit

Man sorry about your loss bro, hope things get better for you and your family

Thanks buddy I appreciate it

Hang in there, my friend. I haven't experienced much loss in my life and for that I am truly thankful. But, my parents are both in their 70's and my dad is starting to show signs of dementia, so I'm afraid I have some tough years ahead of me.

Thanks buddy I appreciate it

Not really quit. The surgeon says I can never go back so I'm turning in my stuff for my disability pension. Once the Pension board meets and approves it, I'm technically fired. Right now I'm just sitting at home waiting for the surgery and the paperwork to go through since I can't go back. I'm gettin paid through Workers Comp. I will need another fusion in the future so we have to settle on an amount for that as they are liable for all future costs of care associated with my injury

An acquaintance of mine got injured in a huge facilities gym, they didnt have smith bolted and it slid out on him, destroying his knee. Now he can no longer do SWAT, but he has a lawsuit that will make the whole rest of his life easy if he does it correctly (doesn't squander all his moolah away) he is getting more bc it ruined his career! This was the perfect dude for this type of work too, always had some funny shit to tell, including working with ATF once bc I guess they needed a couple extras, and how they virtually have no rules to follow..
