100 rep leg training...

Bently

This seems like a good night for something different, here is the plan:
Pick several basic leg machines and with a moderate weight, do 100 reps, you can pause but cannot get up from the machine. Usually get 25-30 reps then need to pause, then grind out as many more as possible, and so on until you reach 100.

Anyone have any other type of "crazy routines" you sometimes do to break up the monatany?

Give german volume training a try it's brutal and a nice break from the ordinary:

10 sets of 10 for each exercise, only one exercie per bodypart, so make it count eg. biceps-barbell curls, legs-squats etc. also use a 401 temp, eg. bench 4 seconds to bring bar to chest, no pause, 1 sec second to bring it up, repeat. THIS KILLS! :D

uuuuuuuuhhhhhh....we did it.
leg extensions-100 reps
leg curls- 100 reps
leg press- 100 reps
donkey calf- 100 reps

ouch.

i would of replied to this earlier but i just made it upstairs!!!! lol! this was a great workout especially because i didn't really want to go in today.

slip - i think what kidrok was saying was we kinda did the german volume training tonight. 10 x 10 = 100 reps. you're right though this is an excellent way to shake up your training.

Realistically slip, if performed correctly you simply CANNOT do this on a free weight movement. It is much too grueling if a heavy enough weight is used. With a free weight movement like a squat, you would have to use entirely too light of a weight to keep from collapsing part way thru the set. Trust me on this! ;)

I don't recommend this with squats... I tore out my vastus lateralus doing high-reps with fairly heavy weights. It didn't happen until the third workout I did like that. The first two were incredible burning workouts. The last one did me in.

i use to hate walking up stairs after working legs

actually walking down stairs is way!! harder

i would have to stumble down the gym stairs after leg day holding the railing in case my legs gave out
