Principles of nutrition

I am not being disrespectful because the read was very informative. However arent the things stated easily found in any first year university nutrition text in the section called.....weight gain? Expanding upon that basic information to apply it to athletes such as bodybuilding or powerlifting...and viola you have yourself an article for a forum ?

RP - I guess you could probably find most of that info in a nutrition text, but that assumes that most people here have taken a class like that. I know that I never had a class like that offered to me at my school. Some people have to rely on info like this posted by DC to learn more about nutrition

Fair enough...

Fair enough. I suppose another nice thing is that the article makes it all relate to a strength athletes point of view in a clear manner.

Doggcrapp:: then my question to you is why are you here? Unless you are looking for a hookup for juice everything in this forum or any forum should be in medline, NEJM, or University texts, if you want to read between the lines.

An Old Resolution

I think the previous post (McGuire) has made it clear that everyone may not have access to the literature or be able to interpret what they have read. :)

Dante is the man! I get so much inspiration from reading his articles, its great. I have followed alot of his recommendations. This past summer I weighed a measily 170 pounds, was weak, and not very well conditioned, I had above average muscle development from past training but really I looked average in a shirt. So for the past six months I have trained very heavy relying on squats, bench, chins, barbell rows, and shrugs/ and eating 300-350g of protien a day with plenty of carbs and fat. Now I currantly weight 240 pounds, have added many pounds to my gym lifts, and get all sorts of people coming up to me in the gym for advice on how to get stronger and bigger. Dante's words are PURE gospel. Sure I get a few comments like "your kinda gettin fat" or "your stomach is lookin larger". ah ah ah so fucking what, I;ve gained alot of muscle with my fat and train like an animal in the gym with heavy wieghts. It is the longterm ambition I am in it for and to hell with what average joe thinks of me!

Thanks Dante.aka.'doggcrap'
