Retirement/401k advice...

this has been my mentality sence i was a kid, my granfather tought me young, ive managed to never be in debt EVER!! ive paid everything off as quick as i can. only debt i have is phone bill, water and gas, grocery's, and gas in the fuel tank.

even my surgery im scheduled for in october is complete payed for.

I wish I had listened to my dad when it came to debt, I wanted to live a life with a champagne taste and a water wallet

Ah yea, my dad used to preach having near perfect credit and for the first 3-5 years I did, then I met my ex and it all went to shit

Another great thing people tend to forget about a 401K is the money comes out Pre-Tax. Meaning what percentage you put in comes out of your gross pay. If you make 100k a year and put in 15% you will only pay federal income tax on 85K. This could potentially be huge in savings on what you pay to the Feds.
