Don't know much about them, except they got on on Duck Dynasty and those guys went nuts printing everything they could think of.
Having not seen the show, what were they printing?
I have designed some stuff in CAD and had it sent out to be printed. I wouldn't buy one. Just send it out to a 3D hub. People with the latest equipment bid on it and make it for you.
why wouldnt you just buy yourself a 3d printer and print it yourself rather than send it out to someone? I love 3d printing shit myself and boom shortly after I create it or load the file its right there in front of me ready to be used .
and what CAD program do you use? I have been using Tinkercad , but found that I had to go out and buy a mouse for my MacBook Pro cause it makes it easier in my opinion
For really easy things, I just use SketchUp software and convert it to .stl file. I wouldn't buy a printer because as often as I print (maybe a few times per year), it doesn't make financial sense. I design it up and have someone would owns a high end printer create it for virtually nothing.
I usually print things for my car. It's pretty rare and it is highly modified, so finding parts is challenging. I would start by getting on a 3D Hub and having them print some of your designs. You would get more familiar with how it all works and more familiar with the different types of printers. If you really do start printing a lot, it may make sense to invest in a printer. Just remember, you pay for what you get and the technology is evolving every day.
