Guys, I have struggles over the years with legs. Looked for every excuse not to squat bc I hate them. Im tall and in the past, id rather have a horse cock shoved up me than fucking squat.
Ive been doing the every week for months. Ive worked up to a decent weight and my legs have exploded. Im now even enjoying the squat, LMAO, I never thought that would happen. My only problem is that my lungs give out before my quads. Ive tried pre-exhausting many different ways, but when I start with squats and progress on the weight, then my legs are wobbly and the next few days, they are Full Blown. It seems that nothing compares, so I guess the old saying is true. Just shut the fuck up and squat. Ill post pics at the end of the winter and I think you guys will be impressed. Im not even doing hams bc a deep squat stimulates them for me soo much not to mention that I just dont have any gas left in the tank!!!

Ha! I've been there Bro! I take a bit easier way out now. I do 20+ on every set every warm ups. I'm also doing cardio three times a week. It's helped tremendously

I've always liked squats when I train legs, my problem is just that I'm not making it to the gym as much as I'd like due to work so I've been neglecting my legs. I'm lucky to make it in there 2-3 times now until Christmas, but after that I'm going balls to the wall and like you, my legs explode. I can gain 10 pounds quickly just getting back into training legs because they just grow like crazy. It's a love/hate deal with squats, first you hate them, but you grow to love them once you get them into your routine. I've always loved deads followed by squats as my favorite exercises (I know I'm a twisted fuck)

Glad to hear you're getting the results you've been working so hard for. I was just thinking abt your quads the other day ( that kinda sounds strange, anyway). We never did finish our friendly little competition, lol! Look forward to seeing new pics.

Be sure and stretch to bro, after every set or at least after your work out. Stretch good and message your quads good to remove any lactic acid build up. I'm just sharing this with you because I love squats and were my prime movement. I haven't been able to squat any more for a good six months. My legs start expiriencing a sharp cramping pain in them as if they are going to tear. Doc, says its from a big amount of lactic acid build up and scare tissue build up. It's awful.

Yea, I think about that from time to time. After Christmas, we will have to pick it back up. As for the Dude, your right, I need to incorporate some cardio or see if albuterol or some aid will will my lungs. Ive always had exercise induced asthma but damn, it really kicks in during squats. Anyway, hope you guys all had a great thanksgiving and spoil each other for Christmas

I'm sure you've heard that heinously correct saying "What you hate the most you need the most"

Frequently quite true.

I'm with you, Rep. I avoided squats for years because of my knees. But, the last couple of weeks I've added them back in and I literally started with 95 pounds doing 15-20 reps to build up my knees slowly. I just recently squatted 225 for the first time ever and it was so awesome!

Im currently bulking and once the winter and my bulk is at peak,, hopefully so will my quads. Then Ill post them up. I think you guys will be impressed.

Some of us happen to LIKE Bulky. And by some of us I do mean AgentYes.

I actualy prefer front squats to regular squats. I do both, but front sqauts just seem to really fry my quads. Not to mention I can front squat the same amount as regular but it dnt hurt my godamn old ass knees. Tore my maniscuss when I was gymnst in my teens and certain movements just dnt work for me. If it dnt feel right there is no sense i injuring yourself. I never go over 315lbs for squats, EVER!!!! Now legpress is a diff storey. Ill rep1200 for sets of 20 all day.

Theres no way i could front squat what I normally use for regular squats, thats insane if u can do that, unless ofcourse you have a little baby squat on normal squats, lol

I have tried to front squat many times but just cant. I fall forward. I even bought this "thing" that the bar can sit on, like a metal vest and the bar falls off the hook. I look like a monkey fucking a football when I try, lol. Ive seen Ronnie Rockel do them and he swears by them. Presser, you are as tall as me, how the hell do you do them??

I love front squats. Also now that I have slip disc that's my only option so that I don't have to go crazy heavy but still kill the quads. To stabilize my back and keep it from hurting I do it on smith machine. I know I know, but it helps me to squat another day without seeing a doctor. I mix the sequence of squats to pre exhaust and so I don't have to go over 315-365.
Still got a long way to go, I'm 6.1 and at 28" I feel I don't deserve to wear shorts lol

I have Always been unsure of NY bodybuilding benefit to front squatting. I know they carry over to increased strength on only lifts but have never had a good enough physique reason to get into them.

Do you need surgery bro, i only ask cause i need a neck fusion from c4-c7 area, and I feel ya for sure with the smith machine! I cant aquat free weight anymore, then again I been at it for years with plenty of muscle maturity so i think at that point its ok to use smith or just hacks or press, but for younger guys starting out i always say Free Squats are a must!

My back is trashed. There is no way I could front squat anything. I can sometimes sneak in a few good sets up to 405 before my back calls it quits now

I personally believe 20 rep squats for size is an excellent routine...When I was a BB, I trained with 225 and 315 for super deep slow controlled reps of 20...Rarely went heavier, maybe 405 once in awhile.. My quads were enormous, never been bigger

Now for strength Im approaching the 800lbx1 mark..I warmup w) 405 then use 500/585/675 for working low rep sets. My quads are probably 2" smaller. My ass on the other hand has become more gigantic then ever from Parallel heavy squats...

We use front squats as a strength builder. I cannot hold the weight, Im too inflexible, and I find the only benefit I get from those for myself is knee pain..I'm sure growth will happen for some people though.

Moral of the story, 20 rep squats :) Keep up the hard work Rep

Hey Presser, Doc says its not bad enough for them to do surgery. So for now they've given me Hydromorphone for pain management when it gets worse. It's wait and see strategy for them. And I gotta squat!!! Need another 3-4 inches at least to bring them up to proportion. So will have to see what comes first surgery or the size lol hope its not paralyses that comes first, that's all. Seeing chiro and RMT to keep thing in place.
I'll definitely try Weslyman's advice for 20 reps squats. If you could throw some more light on your routine that be of great help. It's hard to get out of wanting to lift heavy mindset. Lol
