Ja Rule is not a Rapper. He is an R&B singer. Him & Ashanti are a duet.
Best Rappers: 2Pac, Big small, Jayz,Nas,50 Cent

Yeah Ja Rule just sucks...holla. I wish 50cent would just kick his ass already. The guy is like a Tupac and DMX wannabe. I say the the best would come down to:

Eazy-E
Tupac
Biggie
Eminem
DMX
Jay Z
NAS

...depending on the mood.

Umm Ja Rule? What?

The best rapper of all times is hard to say. No matter what, the answer is going to be someone's opinion so there will always be some arguing. So let me think:

2 Pac - very poetic. He had the voice, no matter what, you can understand his raps. He had the brains and the star quality that sold music. He also had the talent that sold music. One thing about 2pac, he was a studio gangster. You know where he spent a lot of his time growing up? He grew up in Marin, CA. That's like the rich outskirts of San Francisco. He always repped the West but more so LA. He wasn't even from LA. He wanted to be a gangster so bad and hang out with the bloods and crips. He wanted to be a gangster so bad he lived like one and that's why he's dead. 2pac was no gangster, just a loud mouth (talented) black man that portrayed the gangster life.
The Grade: B+

Biggie - raw talent. He like 2pac had talent, he did not have a star quality about him though. Biggie was a gangster. He indeed lived the gangster life too, that's why he is dead. I don't know what more to say about Biggie other than he had mad skills.
The Grade: A

Eminem - he is the most lyrical artist out right now. What I think he brings to the table is that he is "learned" so to speak. He grew up in the rough streets but he also isn't your avareage dumb, drop-out, rapping idiot. Since he grew up on the streets of D it makes him creditable as a rapper. Since he's smarter than your average rapper he brings something to the table that really has never been heard in the rap game. He's very talented because that's his life. When he grew up all he did was listen to hip-hop and that's all he wanted to be. He has succeded. The only thing I don't like about his is that he whines all the time. But hell, that's how he makes his money I guess.
The Grade: A+

In closing, I just want to make my opinion be heard. Someone said that it's all about throw back jerseys and 22's. Sure, but when 2pac and Biggie were around it was all about I'm so hard, look at me. I aint afraid to die, I'm already dead. First - look what that got them. Second - that's what sold at the time. Whatever white suburban kids will buy is what is going to control the rap game. Sadly enough, but true.

Eminem is the best today, he doesnt rap about his bitches, or his 22s, he raps about stuff that hits home. I feel that sometimes his rap calms me down. And sometimes it just gets me fucking pissed the fuck off

Tupac fo' sho', hands down. Rap has changed since he passed away. Now it's "I'm rich, you're not, bling bling money ain't a thing" bullshit rhetoric from every damn rapper that comes out. They're all just a bunch of sheep now, and can't come up with anything original themselves. Have you seen the rap videos lately? The girls are fine, but it's the same shit on every video. SUV's on 24's, throwback jersey's...sorry, got off the topic. Anyways, Tupac was the greatest rapper that ever lived, no question about it. His songs told stories, and his messages were powerful.

100% agreement on this one.

100% agreement here too!

I got to say EM&EM. I don't listen to much rap. Even though I have listened to all the ones mentioned. I feel E has broken through more then the others. I kind of like his words.

Definitely Em at present, but Eazy E was the shit (before he died). Hey, where are Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh on the list? :)
Mr. Dre
Mr. N.W.A.
Mr. AK
Comin' straight outta Compton, y'all better make way...

rap=crap.....N.W.A was amuzing and snoop is somtimes tollerable. I like that eminem video where he beats up the moby look alike. That made me laugh so eminem is cool.

Tupac Shakur was the best rapper of all times, including today. The thing that seperates Tupac from all rappers is his charisma and his persona, and there will never be another tupac. Eminem is following his footspets which I like, including 50 Cent. He needs to change his name, it's ridiculous. Tupac is dead and in heaven.
