They make ampule openers that score the side for you.

Also I have used a butter knife to score one side of it and then put a piece of tissue around the top and snap it with a quick motion.

If you have alot of Amps I would just snap them with my fingers but you also risk shattering them.

Amp opener, score the amp all the way around 2x, It will break cleanly!

I always liked the old Bic pen cap method...

Stick the narrow portion of the Amp in the Bic (old style) pen cap, hold the base of the Amp and snap off the top. It works every time...

scary at first but you'll get the hang of it. beginners may use a alcohol swab to hold it w/. just hold the bottom with your first couple of fingers and the lower part of your thumb (as if giving a thumbs up). gently push with the end of your thumb on the top half and it should break relatively easy. use the wet nap around it to catch any slivers of glass that may break off. I guess it's easier to do than it is to right.

I like the pic pen idea...I may have to give it a shot tonight...I have just been firmly holding onto them and snapping the top off with my thumb...not always a perfect break, but it gets the job done fine.

spring the $8 or so for a real amp opener. that's the best way i've seen.

Pen top is the easiest way bro. Zambon's break easily anyway. They never break cleanly. Use a 25ga or smaller to extract.
