I've defended my home twice with a gun... The first time in 1989, when 2 assholes decided to rob my house and assaulted my girlfriend. They didn't know I was upstairs. I confronted and drew down on them as they were beating a 17 year old girl as one was talking about raping her. I put a round in the wall and screamed the next one that moves gets the next round in their head. They froze, my girl called the cops and they went to jail.
The second time was in 1991 when my cousins ex husband was beating her to a bloody pulp, which ended up putting her in the hospital for a week. I grabbed a side by side and put it to his head after I kicked him off of her.

My kids don't play with guns, because u taught them at the age of 5 what guns were and how to handle them. My son was 8 years old and putting rounds on paper at 25 feet in a 7 inch group. He's gotten better with age, btw. My kids know how to handle, clean, and utilize guns, and how to maintain a completely safe situation. It's all about education and proper upbringing.

Let me ask you this, since it seems to be your point of view... If 3 gay scumbags (aka the govt) wanted to rape you, are your just going to bend over and take it, or are you going to fight as hard as you can to protect your anal integrity? Answer honestly! The way you're talking, since the odds are in their favor, you'd just welcome the butt fucking.

Lastly... No amount of red tape will stop a criminal from being a criminal. It may slow them down, but it will never stop them.

Wow .. That's a pretty rough story . I can honestly say i can't relate .. Never been in that position . I think the problem would have been if you killed the scum bag .. There are cases where you end up in prison if you cant prove defense .. That jewish guy is up for trial for shooting that young black guy . I think his defense story may not fly .. Did you have a pistol or m-16 ? .. I bet it was a pistol . Which by the way you can purchase in Canada . The debate I think is whether a nut job should be able to go to his local Walmart or gun store and purchase a military- like weapon . I think there should be tons of red tape in order to qualify for one .. does the average citizen need that kind of weapon ?

In answer to your question you know full well that if the government came down on you that you would lose . How many people had their homes taken away a few years ago ? Freedom is somewhat of an illusion because we are not really free to do everything we want . Drop your pants and go run naked in the town square and I bet you will be stopped

Regardless if I was trained or not, two burglars attempted to break into my home while I was in it. Fortunately I never fired a single shot in 8 years as a cop in a very large southern california agency but the only time I ever did was when I was off duty.

If the gun was taken away from the victim does that make it wrong that the victim attempted to defend himself? Would the victim have been killed if they didn't have a gun? If the movie theatre would have allowed guests carry their weapon if they had a permit would have stopped this asshole? What if this guy could not have bought a gun and decided to use the 10 gallons of gasoline he had in his apartment and used it in a theatre full of people and killed even more people, who the hell knows. Regardless of what weapon was used he wanted to kill a lot of people and the lack of a ar15 wouldn't have stopped him.

To stop the purchases of semi automatic weapons or "assault weapons" wouldn't have made a difference one bit either. It won't make a difference one bit. But to question how much is enough weapons or ammo to buy to defend yourself or for sport doesn't matter either, it's our right to. Like I said earlier it would be like questioning how much money someone makes and judging how they live, it was their right to make it with the rights they were born with when they live here.

I agree completely. It's like parents avoiding talking about drugs or sex to their kids. Do you want them to learn about it from the school friends or from their parents. I sat my son when he was about 4 or 5 and I showed him a pistol. Explained how to not touch it and what to do if he is at a friends house and they pull out a gun to play with.

If someone in the theatre had a a gun .. It's true it might have stopped him but that person could have blown away a few more innocent people in the process . So now a bunch of hot heads will take their guns to the movies . Someone bumps some idiot's popcorn out of their hands and the other guy shoots him .. Talk about the " wild west " !
No one is saying that guns will be taken out if hands just the type of gun . Seriously when are you going to need a weapon to kill 50 people in a round . Unless there are bunch of bath salts eating zombies I think a pistol would be enough

Zimmerman did not break the law when he got out of his truck and ask Trayvon what he was doing. You need to listen to the 911 tape again. The dispatcher never once told Zimmerman to stay in his truck. The dispatcher gave him a different set of instructions. Listen to the tape again.

This happened a few miles outside of my city- unfortunately this is not the first or last time this will happen.

We do not want them encroaching on our freedoms, and we do not want them interfering with our lifestyle. It is unnatural and I have never seen it benefit anyone but the garbage of society.

I don't know why you are trying to impose your beliefs when they are fundamentally flawed. Do you have any idea on the percentage of lawful firearm owners that go on to commit crimes?! It according to a study in 2006 by the FBI of all firearm related crimes it is a fraction of a percent. Facts, not hype.
I find it disheartening that a grown man in these tumultuous times would not only agree, BUT PREACH the virtues of a Govt that controls everything.

I am saddened by this debate. I make no secret that I have multiple firearms including an AR15 with armor piercing rounds. Rounds that would have easily penetrated the vest of this piece of shit. I have thousands of rounds of ammunition. I have ballistic vests, food stores, and nearly everything I will need when the time comes to protect my family from the monster our Federal Govt has become.
