I remember when I had my bicep torn and had surgery to fix it. I lost ALL of my arm size in about 6 weeks. I couldn't bend it. It had been completely immobilized.
I've also lost no more than a couple pounds when I've taken pretty extended breaks from bodybuilding including using only HRT doses.
How long have you maintained size during a break or how quickly have you lost it? It seems that the longer you carry it, the more "stuck" on your frame it is

This would make sense if your still training pretty good. But use it or lose it.

I also think that it's how much you keep up the lifestyle in the sense of eating, training, and sleeping

A lot of it has to do with Mucle Maturity brutha! Which lends credence to your "Longer you carry it, its stuck on your frame" scenario

Well remember when I got sick in 2010, I went into the hospital at 250lbs, and after 3 months of no training at all, and hardly eating (maybe 3 meals per day). I was 225lbs, when I started back to training in July of 2010. By that winter I was back up to a pretty decent looking 245lbs. Before I started to diet for my state show in 2011 I was around 250-255lbs. I ended up weighing in at 229lbs for that show.

Maybe in the early years there is more fluid in the tissue allowing faster weight loss? Also remember how in the beginning the muscle seemed smoother? I know when I had pneumonia this year I didn't eat anything but a can of soup and some crackers for a few days and I didn't lose too much weight at all
