I know it sounds hokey, but I believe everythign happens for a reason.
If she didn't feel the same way you do, then you don't want to be with her anyway. It's just not a good thing.
If she's gone, you don't have to worry about seeing her or anything else. Hopefully it will help you get over it faster. My ex lives 2 minutes from me and has many of the same friends. It's torture.
