First session back from vacation

My training partner wants to ease into a strength block and see how the previous 10 weeks of higher volumes will translate, I personally am not quite ready for a strength block of training but sometimes you gotta meet your partner half way
We will do a basic linnear block, where week over week weight on the bar goes up and total sets go down. We will also be doing a petty low volume routine compared to my normal protocol to experiment.
Primary movement
Week 1: 10x1
Week 2: 8x1
Week 3: 6x1
Week 4: 4x1
Week 5: 2x1
Week 6: deload
Week 7: 1x1
Secondary we will do squats as well but 2-3 sets of 5 or 6 reps with an emphasis on explosiveness
After that we will hit machine accessories hard until week 5, then we will start to taper those down to nothing.
So what did yesterday's workout look like?
405 10x1
315 2x6
Leg extensions to failure
leg curls to failure
good girls/bad girls to failure.
We will try to keep some pause squats in the mix to build out that strength base out the bottom of the squat, and introduce the rebound more and more as the weeks progress on.
Due to some nagging back injury I can only squat 1x a week--but if I were a healthy old man I'd be doing a second squat day.
My bench press day has a minor hickup--going through a breakup and my ex girlfriend who I normally bench with is headed to another state for residency program. I will need to find another gym or training partner for bench days. I can't self hand off with my shoulder and tricep issues. Haven't been able to do that for at least a decade lol
In the mean time I will likely focus on pin presses to keep building the bench
