4/22 Workout:
5x3 - 135 + Red band. Speed work
Then ascending load until the bar slows down, ending at 275 + Red for a quick single.
Swiss Bar incline: 5x5
Pusups, 2 cluster sets of 2 sets each. To failure
Pullups 5 sets
Bicep Curls, to failure
I am a big fan of speed work, or as I brand it Force Development work. The fact is, in strength training there is a start command and your ability to accelerate load is a large determining factor in the success of a lift. The faster you can get that bar moving, the more likely you are to blast through 'sticking points.
In addition, force development work is fun, has huge carryover to sport, and ensures a base level of athleticism from your Barbell Training program.
Remember, with strength training the goal isn't to annihilate the muscles and get maximally sore. Instead, the goal is to build a successive series of workouts where one builds into the next, essentially climbing a pyramid.
